Professor Peter Marteinson (University of Waterloo, HKMA College Hong Kong) is a specialist in Theatre and Literary Theory, particularly in the philosophy and theory of comedy. He has published articles in the field of eighteenth-century theatre, notably on Beaumarchais, Marivaux and the structure of their comedies, as well as articles and papers on Technology and Education. He is Co-Editor of the international literary journal, Applied Semiotics / Sémiotique appliquée, and is a former student at France's Ecole normale supérieure. He is currently writing a book on the aesthetics of comedy.
